With the Australia vs India test series just under 6 weeks away from starting in Adelaide on December 17. There is only one round of shield cricket remaining unless cricket Australia update the current draw with 4th round matches starting today (Sunday November 8) unless a updated shield draw is shortly released.
The Big Bash is due to start December 10 and with limited overs series of matches starting on November 27 at the SCG that leaves many weeks of little or almost no cricket for test only players like skipper Tim Paine and the highly experienced Nathan Lyon.
With Covid19 causing issues for match schedules CA have been blaming governments such as QLD for the impacts of updating the India tour that was first released in late May.
The highly anticipated test series with India will be a very interesting one starting with the day/night Adelaide pink ball test match in mid December.
Players in line for test selection have been in pleasing form in the Adelaide Shield only matches. Will Pucovski changing to a opening batter after starting out his early first class career as a middle order player Scored an outstanding 250 along with fellow Victoria opener Marcus Harris.
Travis Head has scored back to back hundreds for South Australia and is in excellent form.
A big summer ahead with players like Steve Smith, David Warner, Pat Cummins unlikely to play more than a tour match or just limited overs matches against India leading into the 4 match test series.
